Research Synopsis

Dr. Chandra’s current research interests involve the use of High-Fidelity Patient Simulation in Inter-Professional Education as well as the use of capnography to guide treatment for in-hospital cardiac arrests. This work is currently supported by an AHSC AFP Innovation Fund Award for $50,090 (2015 Apr-2017 May Co-Principal Investigator. Optimizing End-tidal CO2 (ETCO2) use for in-hospital cardiac arrests using a novel inter-professional simulation training program and increased ETCO2 availability).

Dr. Chandra’s other academic interests involve Medical Education and Evaluation, through his position as the Director of the Anesthesia Written Test Committee at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He also has educational interests in Anesthesia Crisis Resource Management and High-Fidelity Patient Simulation, as the fellowship director for the Simulation/Education Fellowship at St. Michael’s Hospital. His commitment to Medical Education was awarded with a national award from the Canadian Anesthesiologists’ Society in 2013.
