Postgraduate Program Committee
The primary role of the Program Committee is to advise the program director in all aspects of the administration of the training program.
The committee is, therefore, expected to:
- Develop and periodically review and revise an academic program which includes teaching all CanMEDS roles to ensure that residents attain the competencies laid out in the “Objectives of Training” of the RCPSC.
- Ensure that regular and relevant evaluation of residents occurs and that promotion occurs based on specific criteria.
- Ensure that teachers and rotations are evaluated.
- Participate in a fair, open and transparent selection process for new residents.
- Ensure that the program adheres to all the Standards of Accreditation of the RCPSC.
- Review residents in difficulty and advise the program director with respect plans for remediation and/ or probation.
